I grew up listening to the voice of Jim McKay on ABC's Wide World of Sports" ("...the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat... ") so I was saddened by news of his passing last week. But l was oddly heartened by the way this MSNBC anchor announced the details of his death. My guess is, someone a lot older than she wrote the script she was reading but I appreciated the implication that a man of 86 died well before his time. Way to go, MSNBC!
