Ambivalent about Anders

Anders Holst

I wanted to like Anders Holst's music. I really did. He's a sexy looking, Swedish man (dig those heavy-lidded eyes!) and his voice is rich and soulful.

After reading the following review of his single, "Love Me Like a River," I was even more expectant:

"When women think of a male vocalist, they think of a man. A virile man. Someone that can relate to them as an adult woman, with adult needs and desires. A real man who can meet the challenge of satisfying a real woman. Anders Holst, who was born in Sweden, and now lives in New York, is that man. A seasoned vocalist with an unmistakably masculine voice (and persona) that means business - adult business. This single is just what AC radio has missed and is in need of: A track that unequivocally articulates the softer side of romance, and the harder side of masculinity - with no apologies. It's not an appeal or a request, it's a demand. Love Me Like A River!.. This is a plush track that can be serviced in a variety of ways, and used to provide a variety of services..." - from the Muse's Muse.

Whoa. Talk about a recommendation!

I don't know. Maybe I'm just not the 'adult contemporary' type. It's not likely that Anders' music will ever provide "services" in my life. (Marvin Gaye is my go-to guy for that.)

But, to each her own, right? You certainly might enjoy him, so I invite you to check out his Web site ...if only for a look at the photos.
