Like most BoomerGirls, I have a thing for fans. There's nothing like a good, high velocity push of air to cure what ails you, especially in the dog days of August.
Thankfully, I've not been struck by a hot flash in quite some time. But, this morning, I had an urgent and immediate need for my Lakewood desk fan (Model # HV-4), purchased four years ago for ten dollars at Walgreens. It had been sitting idly on my desk, gathering dust, for months. Would it turn on? And if not, how in the world would I turn off?
I hit the switch and - wouldn't you know it - that little fan started up like a champ!
