At age 23, Sherrie Mathieson (formerly Sherrie Sucher) was the youngest person ever to be accepted as a costume design member of United Scenic Artists. Since that time — over three decades ago — she has made an indelible mark as an expert, award-winning costume designer and fashion stylist.

Working at the top of her field in feature films, TV movies, industrial films, music videos, TV specials, print fashion work, and commercials, she has styled Academy Award-winning actors and directors, sports figures, comedians, rock stars, dancers, industry leaders, among many, many others.

Today, Mathieson resides in the Southwest and maintains a thriving business as a style consultant. She works with clients all over the country and travels regularly to give seminars. Using live models, she demonstrates the amazing effect style has on either aging an individual, or achieving the illusion of greater youthfulness. The overwhelming response to these seminars showed Mathieson the growing need and marketplace for a book to address these issues. After nearly three years of work, the book, "Forever Cool," has been completed and is available for purchase.

Getting 'fashion healthy'

Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007

I believe that all those sugary (and deliciously tempting) foods bear a direct resemblance to all the glitzy, over-patterned, over-styled clothes that clog the aisles of too many stores. Just as nutritious eating can be delicious, style can be understated and simple with being boring.

What’s sexy after fifty?

Monday, Dec. 18, 2006

My philosophy is: Yes, you can look as sexy as your body and age permit. At over 50, that means REASSESS!
