Nancy Harrington

Nancy E. Harrington, M.A., was born in New York in 1951. Due to her father’s career with TWA, she grew up in various locales: New Jersey, Kansas and California. After spending 30 years in California trying to “settle in,” she realized that her home was really in the Kansas City area, and she returned to the fold in 2002.

She has been a college educator since 1977, teaching biology courses such as physiology, anatomy, cell biology and reproductive physiology. Certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), Harrington is a specialist in reproductive health and sexuality. Over the decades, she has provided sexuality education to thousands of young people, ranging in age from 8 to adult. She has provided reproductive health and sexuality training to professionals in the fields of social work, education and health care. She has designed and implemented curricula on various aspects of human sexuality. She is coauthor of the training program "Reducing Teen Pregnancy: Helping Teens Make Healthy Decisions."

She has been married and a stepmother since 1973.
